Sep 15, 2012 There's no generic C mechanism. But as you mention Windows 7, you could use the Win32 API call SetConsoleTextAttribute. There are a number of posts on this forum if you need more details. 'Change color of selected text'. Standard C has no notion of 'colors'. So what you are asking depends on the operating system. For Windows, you can check out the SetConsoleTextAttribute function. On.nix, you have to use the ANSI escape sequences.
I searched a lot but there seems to be no way to have additional color schemes in Dev C++. The existing ones are way too bland. Also, I am no good at colors, yet, it feels as if I don't have the control to choose enough colors in the Editor Options. Is there a workaround? Can anyone port '>this?

- This is a function online, I created a header file with it, and I use Setcolor; instead, I hope this helped! You can change the color by choosing any color in the range of 0-256.
- Then prints the text. Using Color(/.Number./) will just change the color of the text until you decide to change it again, and Color will set it to default. This works with default arguments when making the function. Remember: Only change the color once per cout statement.
Certainly some may say this is a lot of fuss over nothing. But, I believe its really important.

No one has an answer? Or is it that Dev C++ does not have such features. Tell me about a good editor (if not an IDE) which is good features and additional color scheme adding capability.
